How I Improved My Posture Using the Feldenkrais Method

My pose never concerned me until my 30's. All of a unexpected I noticed my head position had moved accelerate and my shoulders were rounding. I had backaches formerly, too. Especially after work, or sitting at the computer. All this in the teeth of the fact I considered myself ~y athlete. I surfed all the time and played golf and basketball many times. What was going on? I was lubberly and I couldn't fix it with weights or sports.

I started to examine geographically. My poor posture had to have a reason. I had courses of pertaining to physics therapy, chiropractic, massage, Rolfing, even the Egoscue Method. My situation improved somewhat but not to the potential I felt I could get.

Feeling incredulous, I saw a Feldenkrais practitioner. From him, I rest out I had a biomechanical problem contributing to my posture despite every one of the treatments I had tried. For case in point, my spine was stiff and my pelvis was stiff. Feldenkrais therapy was able to execute greater flexibility and ease of manner of moving in both my back and hips than anything I had tried. My situation improved with each table and prostrate lesson. After a couple of months I felt and looked ample: I finally had good posture. I looked 10 years junior. And felt 10 years younger. I was such impressed. I now also had a herculean way to maintain my good position.

So what is good posture? Good pose has many definitions, but the greatest number useful definition involves efficiency: do we carry ourselves in such a way that altogether of our actions are easy and effortless, by grace and poise? Or do some of our actions feel clumsy or account pain? Do we stand upright and put in motion easily in an elegant equilibrium? Perhaps you be able to skip the mistakes I made and chief directly for the Feldenkrais Method should you touch that your posture could improve.

The Feldenkrais Method has been used fortunately to improve posture without excessive violence or effort. Feldenkrais uses simple, of good family movements to reorganize posture, flexibility, courage and coordination. Based upon the neurological processes ~ means of which we learn movement skills, Feldenkrais is a fictitious narrative approach to correcting posture, harnessing the prerogative of the brain to help the body function more efficiently. More efficient application of self creates environments within that poor posture can improve.
