Most of us don't worry very much about our health until something goes wrong. We just go along in our teens and twenties, eating whatever we please and if we get some exercise it's probably because of an activity that we enjoy or a sport that we love; the exercise is a product of our enjoyment. But as we get older, we find that our bodies are not reacting the way it used to. We find that we run out of energy faster and there's a spare tire building up in our mid-sections. What is going on?
It could be that we need to pay attention to what we're eating and drinking. Too many sweets, too many sodas and fatty foods can add up, not only on our waistline and stomachs, but also inside us where things are going on that we're not aware of. There are chemical imbalances going on inside us, hormone imbalances that are causing diseases that we don't recognize the symptoms of until they become quite obvious.
Once the body shows signs of hormone imbalances, the organs don't work the way they used to. The hormones can cause us to age quicker than we're supposed to. The organs that process glucose can stop processing it, and it adds up in our blood stream, causing type 2 diabetes, as one of the diseases that can result from our actions. Sometimes diabetes is the result predominately of our family history, and sometimes it's our own actions that cause it. When you have hormone imbalances, it can cause not only the "I don't feel right" condition, it can cause other diseases to take over.
So how do you fight it? You do need to see your doctor and have tests done to determine if you are a victim of diabetes. After the tests, if it is determined that you have diabetes, you need to adjust your diet, get more exercise, and sometimes, when it gets really bad, you need to take medication to correct the effects.
It would be better if we could fight our hormone imbalances by taking better care of ourselves when we were younger, but if you can't do anything now, at least get a doctor to put you back on track to a healthier life. You can always change the effects, maybe not the disease itself but at least the effects. Once your body is balanced again, you'll feel so much better.
