What Really Are Toxins?

Toxins, they're in food, the air, the microwave and even on your kitchen countertop. It seems like there are very few places where these nightmarish, cancer inducing particles can't be found and the media just loves to talk about them. Unfortunately, they are too busy stirring up fear to educate you and what these toxins actually are and how you can combat them. If you've read any of my other posts you'll know that detoxing is the method of choice for removing toxins, but you might still be unsure as to what toxins are.

Webster's dictionary defines a toxin as, "a poisonous substance that is a specific product of the metabolic activities of a living organism and is usually very unstable, notably toxic when introduced into the tissues, and typically capable of inducing antibody formation". What this is basically saying is that a toxin is any NATURAL substance that is capable of causing harm. I've emphasized natural because under this definition infamous artificial substances such as Aspartame, Sucralose and Saccharin are excluded. Yes, artificial substances, even if proven to kill you are not toxins. This begs the question, "So what are toxins?".
