One may find moles to be of different types. There are mainly three categories of moles. Knowing the features of each of these categories will help in determining whether to remove them or not.
Is mole removal mandatory?
Science students might scoff at what they would deem an absurd question. Laymen, however, would tend to be nervous and upset, once they read articles supporting the theory that moles are cancerous. The process of mole removal is no more a difficult one.
People in the past had to make do with home remedies and natural treatment methods. But today, laser surgery or excision surgery is carried out in many hospitals and they are exclusively performed by skin surgeons who specialize in mole removal. You have to have your mole diagnosed for any cancerous tendencies before signing up for a surgical procedure to remove them.
When this differentiation is understood clearly, you will find out whether a surgery is required or not. The most common types of moles, called nevus, are not cancerous at all. Despite being similar to common moles, however, dysplastic nevus can sometimes pose cancer risks. A sure cause for cancer is melanoma.
