Is colourblindness an infectious disease like the common cold or influenza?

Leggett

Colour blindness is inherited. Red-green colour blindness is a recessive trait. It is sex-linked, that is, the allele of the gene is present on the X chromosome but not on the Y (male).A male (XY) inheriting this recessive allele will be red-green colour blind. It is less common in females (XX) because there is a much greater chance that this recessive allele will be masked by the dominanant allele for normal sight.

Ranburne

of course not, not at all. colour blindness is natural born disease, perhaps it`s something wrong at the eye, not because of virus that causes common cold or influenza

Ayer

It is a genetic & gender-associated with men more than women, but not contageous...
