Let Us Understand What is Gout

Gout is an aching arthritic problem influencing the joints. It chiefly affects the big toe. But it can affect some other joints like knees, wrists, fingers, ankles etc.

Why Do Many People Get Gout Attack?

Gout generally happens when extra uric acid is manufactured in the body. When too much uric acid is formed, it will turn into sharp crystals which get deposited in the body's joints like toes, fingers, ankles etc.

The crystals formed due to uric acid may lead to irritation, heat and ache in the joint areas. People with long-term gout affliction, may get repeated gout attacks which may in most cases last upto 24 hours or so.

At times, eating wrong foods may lead to a gout attack. In order to reduce gout attacks, people should refrain from certain food types.
