Health is everyone's right and duty of the State in accordance with the Brazilian Constitution. Everyday life becomes increasingly evident that this is a dead letter, and if we do not fight, and soon will be either in the Constitution.Pressured by the imperialist countries - especially, of course, the United States, governments around the world are attacking the rights won by the historical struggle of the workers and popular movement in all areas. In addition, sucatizao health, education, transportation and public infrastructure are part of a strategy to privatize and further enrich the imperialist countries.
But we will fly down ... I will only talk about health, although it is true, we must fight through a lot in fact to have an ideal world to live. Many workers fall ill each day because of the increasingly unhealthy conditions of work. Not enough, there are still attacks on welfare, excessive working hours, cutting staff (resulting climate of constant insecurity and unemployment) and rights, all in exchange for payments that do not guarantee the minimum conditions of survival, many sometimes even accompany the official inflation rate (since the real is much larger - or anyone think that prices are up 5% last year?).
In this scenario, it is more than obvious that the government has a duty to ensure a minimum population health infrastructure. See I'm not discounting the other problems I think we should fight them all, but I put here the issue of health and harm reduction. We've all paid for it. However, those who need access to health care became a hostage to bad (or no answer) and often have to resort to a health plan, with extortionate prices and services almost as poor as the state.
In a conversation I had earlier in the week, the father of a friend told me that he was in a public hospital waiting for care when a man who stood beside him died after repeated request service times. Once I was in a state hospital in the North Zone, accompanying my grandmother who had a health problem, and saw a man with a fracture in the leg, with his trousers torn and covered with blood, approaching the gate of care: the security closed the door and said he would have to forward the counter - in another hall - to be met before registration. The man was jumping.
To those who defend the privatization or public-private partnership, just remember the case of Vaseline in place of serum injected at Hospital Sao Luiz Gonzaga, the Jacana. The government transfers to a private group an absurd amount of money that they manage a public hospital - and with it, no need to provide care in its facilities to public patients, which is required by law of every private hospital, they reduce the number of staff, which most often is hired under a cooperative, no rights, increase the amount of beds, and the result, of course, is catastrophic. And, of course, for every penny saved someone profited greatly.
We must fight not to lose the right to public health and so we can all enjoy it. It is absurd to see people dying slowly in queues or in their homes because they are not met. It is absurd to see the doctors working in poor conditions and inhumane journey. It is absurd that the government transfers to individuals a duty to ensure good health.
This fight is all. A quality public health requires that private schools offer better services and relieve the worker - have gouged by the values of the abusive taxes, inflation, housing, etc. - to spend the extra money for health insurance and medicine. Above all, a quality public health prevents death and suffering. Let's not be complicit by default. Take this fight on our hands and forced the state to fulfill its duty.
This fight will save lives.
