Information On HIV Rash Issues

A rash from HIV is caused by medications as well as the disease itself. Sometimes it is a clue for diagnosis. In other cases, it may be something that is due to allergic responses.  An HIV rash may be as an outcome of a contrary drug reaction or allergy.  Patients who notice rashes on their skin should contact their physician. It is approximated that over seventy percent of people infected with the virus will have one skin problem or the other during the period of the infection.

It is important to note that a skin rash can be caused by several other things apart from medications.  Many people panic when they have a skin rash because they assume they have HIV or aids. First of all, there are many types of rashes, so this should not be assumed. There are rashes such as scabies, herpes and warts that may be due to intimacy.

The primary symptoms of HIV infection grow within a few weeks to about two months after the infection with the virus.  The symptoms are fever, swollen glands, loss of appetite, fever, muscle aches and pains, etc. A rash may also develop on he skin. This may not be seen initially when an individual is infected with the virus. The infection increases as time advances and the symptoms also changes.  It can be up to nine solid years for some people.  The symptoms may advance to severe fatigue, fevers, weight loss, lymph nodes enlargement, constant diarrhea, visions problems and additional forms of discomfort.

HIV rash can be reduced to some manageable level.  The first thing to do is to get away from direct sunlight as much as possible and also stop taking hot baths and showers. This is because heat will make the condition grow worse. Secondly, benadryl cream can also be applied to shrink raised rashes and stop the itching.  Any foods, drugs or soaps that are likely to aggravate the rash should be recognised and discontinued.  If HIV patients stop their medications after the rash shows up, it is not advisable to start again without the recommendation of the doctor. The right thing is to inform the doctor before discontinuing the medications.

Do not feel that your life is over if you have a diagnosis. Many people today are able to live long and productive lives with an HIV diagnosis. There are medications as well as natural care that enables individuals to function at a very high level today.
