The Most Common Digestive Health Problems

The most common health problems that people are suffering from these days are directly related to digestive health. This is something many people experience but often times don't take very seriously. However, many of these digestive health problems can be very uncomfortable and even painful and if left untreated could turn into something serious as well.

Most Common Digestive Health Problems

So what exactly are some of the more common problems? Digestive problems are those which affect a person's gastrointestinal health and can lead to various problems:

Constipation

Diarrhea

Gas

Heartburn

Bloating

Abdominal cramps and pain

Flatulence

And many more...

These problems all correlate with the health of your digestive system. If, for some reason, your digestive system is not very well-balanced, as most aren't, it 's quite common to suffer from any of these.

Another digestive health problem is that of slow metabolism which, in turn, can lead to unnecessary weight gain. If your system is not properly digesting the food, it will not be able to absorb the important nutrients that are essential for every function of the body. This can cause various deficiencies of vitamins, minerals and enzymes which can in turn, cause a lot of serious problems.

Measures to Eliminate Digestive Health Problems

Getting rid of these problems doesn't need to be difficult and painful! Just some common sense and the ability to stick to your plan. All of us already know most of these things, but sometimes we all need to be reminded... right?

Some of the measures you can take to eliminate digestive health problems are:

Eat a healthy diet rich in fiber, proteins, calcium and essential minerals.

Eat lots of fruits and vegetables.

Limit red meats as they are very hard on the digestion system.

Limit alcohol.

Exercise regularly for at least 30 minutes daily.

Drink plenty of water.

Include probiotics and prebiotics in your diet.

Avoid saturated fats and sugars - processed foods in general

Drink green tea as it is a powerful antioxidant.

Many of these common disorders are the direct cause of a diet that's deficient in dietary fiber. The lack of fiber has been associated with constipation as mentioned above but also more serious things like IBS, Crohn's disease, inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer.
