How to Get Rid of Yeast Infection Using 4 Inexpensive Home Remedies

There are so many ways on how to get rid of yeast infection but most of us prefer home remedies. There's nothing wrong with taking antibiotics but for those who rely heavily on them, you may want to take a step back and realize that you might be doing more harm than good. Candida may become resilient and that means you will need a longer and stronger prescription. Home remedies are a lot cheaper and you don't have to worry about harmful side effects.

Here are some of the simplest and yet most effective home remedies to help treat Candidiasis:

1.) Yogurt- this seems to be the most popular way on how to get rid of yeast infection fast. It's pretty easy too; all you have to do is take a tampon and dip it in yogurt (plain, unflavored yogurt with active or live bacteria), insert in the vagina and leave it overnight. If you catch the infection at its earliest stage, this remedy may work in 24 hours. If your symptoms do not clear up in one treatment though, continue the remedy for a couple of days more. It will also be beneficial in the long run if you include yogurt in your diet.

2.) Vinegar- this may not sound too appealing but it really does work. Draw a hot bath with some added vinegar to help relieve skin irritation and itching caused by Candidiasis. This is a very effective remedy to stop the growth of yeast and restore the pH balance in your body. You can use Apple Cider Vinegar if you want but make sure you get something that is raw and unfiltered.

3.) Tea Tree Oil- I would not recommend undiluted tea tree oil because this can cause inflammation and may cause severe reaction especially if you are going to apply it in your vagina. Dilute tea tree oil with a few drops of olive oil. A few drops of the concoction poured on a tampon will provide instant relief from the itch. It will also help stop the infection because of its antifungal properties.

4.) Coconut Oil- this is another proven way on how to get rid of yeast infection because it contains the antimicrobial agents Caprylic Acid, Capric Acid and Lauric Acid. Some studies actually show that coconut oil is as effective as fluconazole when it comes to killing yeasts.

Make sure you purchase extra virgin coconut oil instead of the regular one. Take four tablespoons per day but if this is your first time to take coconut oil orally, you may want to start with one teaspoon per day and gradually increase the dosage until you are more comfortable. You can also take coconut oil in capsules. You can apply the oil topically on the infected area two to three times a day as well.
